Fern Flower

The contemporary world lacks fixed points of reference, it is decentralised and shaky. To a large extent, the development of the Internet has contributed to such a state of affairs. The series Fern Flower is an attempt to find the original unity of the world in nature. In order to do it, I turn to the Kurpie region, to the Green Wilderness. However, the experience of civilisation makes the return to the nature impossible.

The Wilderness

The objective of the web application The Wilderness is to convey the spirit of the Kurpie culture. The Kurpie people who due to their activities spent much time in the forest, used to call each other in singing, leading a musical dialogue. The player, moving around the wilderness with the hero, can follow the source of the singing, gain information about the songs and interact with other players. The Wilderness is an open-world video game, which means that the player can freely explore the world of the game, without a linear narrative. The web app form allows reaching wide audiences with the Kurpie culture.
