Maja Żurawiecka

author biographical note degree piece

A pretext for designing a book of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth were my illustration, created already in my fourth year in Professor Lech Majewski’s Studio of Editorial Graphic Design. The degree project was an opportunity to develop and refine my personal style creating illustrations and posters complementing the book. I created them using pictures taken by myself, which processed in the technique of collage and cut-outs have resulted in a surreal realm filled with blood-dripping ornaments. As serious topics cannot be taken too seriously.
